Equipment

I started out with Motormarine 2 EX with two different macro lenses and a 16 mm wideangle lens. After three years I change equipment and went SLR. The camera of my choose was a Nikon F80 with Sea&Sea housing.

I believe the step from a compact camera to a SLR camera is a big step in quality and somewhat necessary if you want to sell good underwater pictures. Now I could fully compose, see when the pictures were sharp and perhaps most important, had some of the worlds best lenses to choose from!

Last year I found out that I had to go digital and bought the equipment I´am currently using:

Cameras: Nikon D200, Nikon F80

Lenses: Nikkor 10,5 mm fisheye, Nikkor 60 mm micro, Sigma 105 EX macro, Nikkor 28-80 zoom lens, Sigma 18-50 Ex macro

Housing: Sea&Sea DX 200 Including different ports to suit the different lenses

Strobes: Two Sea&Sea Ys120

Strobe arms: Sea&Sea

Equipment is of course important but I believe that the most important thing is to dive a lot to be in the water when it happens and have a very, very good patience so that you actually can wait for the right moment to capture that special behavior or that diver swimming exactly in the right position. To go digital is in some part more time consuming since I tend to be stuck at one place until I am satisfied with the result. On the other hand you don´t have to come home, develop your film only just to realize that you didn't get the perfect image and than you have to go back and do it all over again!
